At Milan Design Week 2026, Darmisak presented an interactive collectible design experience that reimagined traditional Damascus craftsmanship through contemporary participation. Rather than exhibiting a handcrafted furniture piece as a static object, visitors were invited to engage directly with the installation—touching materials, making choices, and contributing to an evolving collective mosaic. Rooted in the centuries-old art of mother-of-pearl marquetry and handcrafted in Damascus, the project explored the intersection of heritage craftsmanship, interactive design, and contemporary collectible furniture. This installation transformed the audience from observers into participants, creating a dialogue between tradition, material innovation, and modern design culture during Milano Design Week.
